With Phillip from Brussels went another week later the last long term amigo (2 ½ month).
Partidos de ajedrez and fútbol made time fly by even faster. For his last weekend we fetched fresh fish which was well prepared by the chef Daniel in his bungalow in Tena.
Afterwards he took us for a little “shaky shaky” to the discotheque for some amigas birthday and later on with friends to a karaoke bar where we spit the lines of the Beatles “Let it be”.
The night was great and the morning early when we awoke from the high-pitched Ecuadorian “Cumbias” getting ready for chicken, rice and watermelon juice a la Daniel’s for breakfast.
That weekend’s highlight was the visit of the stalactite caves which his family discovered in the outskirts of Tena years ago. Philly and I went with Daniel his wife Jourdes and his dad Walter for this not every-day excursion.
Good thing that us “cerebros” forgot to bring flashlights and boots. Lights were arranged fast and Philly’s small feet could be helped out with a pair of “botas” as well. I just took off my shoes when we got to the water, hoping for “culebras” and piranhas.
Let me lead you in fotos:
